For more than ten years, Sassi has been Scottsdale’s leading destination for fine Italian dining and wine. Sassi offers a memorable setting at the foot of Pinnacle Peak with a variety of indoor dining rooms and patio dining when weather permits. Sassi is a multi-year recipient of Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence and AAA’s Four Diamond Award. Executive Chef Christopher Nicosia begins with the traditional ingredients, cooking methods and recipes of southern Italy, creating a seasonally changing menu featuring handmade pasta, a wood burning oven and grill and house made desserts & bread. The dinner menu includes a variety of Spuntini (small items to accompany a cocktail or glass of wine before dinner), Antipasti, Primi (first courses), Secondi (main courses) and Dolci (desserts). Complementing the menu are more than 250 Italian wine selections, numerous Italian wines offered by the glass and both traditional and modern cocktails. After dinner choices include grappa, amari and dessert wines. The restaurant’s architecture & design are similarly based in old world Italy, making use of wood beams, stone floors and Venetian plaster. In addition to a variety of choices for indoor and outdoor dining, Sassi’s two private dining rooms are available for parties of 8 or 14 guests. A separate, private event space is available for weddings and other groups of up to 150. The Sassi Bar offers a happy hour menu and hosts live entertainment on weekends from late September to May.
